The Retail Customer Experience Executive Summit, an exclusive c-level event produced by NetWorld Alliance and hosted by RetailCustomerExperience.com, has announced its keynote lineup, as well as a special evening excursion for attendees to a Twins/Red Sox game taking place during the event.

The Summit, scheduled for August 8-10 in Minneapolis, is a three-day event designed to facilitate networking, communication and innovation between retail executives, all centered around ways to improve customer experience. This is the second year for the event.

This year’s opening keynote speaker is Bob Phibbs, the “Retail Doc,” a nationally recognized expert on business strategy, customer service, sales, and marketing.  With over thirty years experience beginning in the trenches of retail to senior management positions, he has been a corporate officer, franchisor and entrepreneur.  As a motivational speaker and consultant, he has creatively helped some of America’s best-known retail brands — including Yamaha, Caswell-Massey, Viking, LEGO, and Brother — succeed when economic circumstances or new competitors have challenged their customer base.  He is a frequent guest on MSNBC’s Your Business and the author of two business books.

The closing keynote will be Caitlin Kelly, author of the forthcoming book “Malled: My Unintentional Career in Retail.” Recently featured in Entertainment Weekly’s Bullseye section, the book tells the story of how Kelly lost her job as a journalist and was forced to take a retail job. She brings to the summit a unique perspective — that of the front-line retail employee — and will cover how all of the best corporate intentions are for naught if strategies and goals aren’t entrenched throughout the entire organization.

In-between those two keynotes are many interactive sessions, ranging in topic from location-based marketing to the latest in retail technology — all explored through the filter of customer experience and how to make it better.

Also, all attendees will enjoy a Tuesday night excursion to the Minnesota Twins baseball game at the brand-new Target field. The Twins will be hosting the Boston Red Sox, and a special section of the stadium has been reserved exclusively for Summit attendees.
